In the summer, there is a wide range of activities and hotspots close to Piesendorf / Walchen. Below you can find some of the activities:
The Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun
With its 3,029 meters above sea level, the Gipfelstation of the Kitzsteinhorn with the panorama platform ‘top of Salzburg’ is the highest view point in the Salzburger area that can be reached all year round without having to climb. No other place at this height is so accessible and yet offers such a magnificent view of the large protected area of the Alps and the highest peaks of Austria, such as the Grossglocner (3,798 m), Grossvenediger (3,662 m) and the Hocheiser (3,206 m).
The “Hochalppenstrasse” leads you to the Grossglockner, it has 36 sharp turns and a length of 48 kilometers, this makes it a popular route.
The Krimmler Wasserfallen. Europe’s largest waterfall. You can combine this trip with a ride with the Pinzgauer Dampfzug, a steam train that runs from Zell am See to Krimml. You can board this train in Walchen.
The Hinkelsteinbad in Piesendorf offers a beautiful sunbathing area, restaurant, slide and separate children’s pool. Near Walchen, you can find Niedernsill, a natural lake is located here with various attributes in the water (both free for our guests).
Piesendorf / Walchen also organizes several activities for children in the summer. Guests of our chalet can participate for free.
The summer toboggan run for children in Kaprun is also very nice.
